Warning Signs to Share
- Urgency: Anyone creating false urgency (“act now!”)
- Secret: Telling them to keep the conversation secret
- Payment: Requests for gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency
- Personal Info: Asking for Social Security, Medicare, or bank numbers
Conversations to Have
- Talk about common scams targeting seniors
- Set up a family code word for emergencies
- Agree not to send money to unexpected requests
- Keep contact info updated for real family members
